5101 04.94 Unit 301 Refrigerants Handling
License to Practice Unit
It is currently illegal to recover and charge refrigerant in any motor vehicle air-conditioning system unless a person holds one of the interim certificates listed in the governments "Statutory Instruments 2009 No 261 Environmental Protection" white paper.
From July 2010 new legislation requires that all personnel recovering or using refrigerant listed in the legislation must posses the new qualification or be liable to prosecution.
City and Guilds 5101.04.05 unit 301 now covers the new requirements and is currently a lifetime qualification. It is possible that it may be adjusted in the 2011 government review to 5 years.
JAVAC can provide on-site training and assessment for City and Guilds qualification 5010 .04.05 unit 301 for up to 6 persons which will allow the successful candidate to recover refrigerant from a motor vehicle. To see costs and to book your course, download our application form now.
